Working Principle and Structural Features of a Pneumatic Clutch


Introduction


A typical example of flexible transmission, the pneumatic clutch achieves torque transmission by driving a rubber bladder with compressed air. Its core components are the wheel hub, bladder, and friction plate. When 0.4-0.8 MPa air pressure is applied to the bladder, the radially expanding friction plate forms a rigid connection with the driven member.


Technical Advantages


Vibration Absorption: The rubber material can absorb over 30% of impact loads.


Overload Protection: Slip torque can be precisely controlled within 120% of the rated value.


Remote Control: Response time is less than 0.3 seconds, making it suitable for automated production lines.
